Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD):
Conduct thorough reviews of customers as per global banking standards, assessing risk profiles, financial history, and activities. This includes conducting investigations and identifying potential financial crime risks. -
Periodic Reviews:
Perform routine periodic reviews of existing customers to ensure compliance with KYC and AML regulations, updating records with current and accurate information, and ensuring that due diligence is maintained at all times. -
Risk Assessment:
Evaluate and classify customers according to risk levels, ensuring appropriate controls are in place. Identify customers that require higher levels of monitoring or scrutiny, particularly in relation to financial crimes or suspicious activities. -
Transaction Monitoring:
Analyze and review transactions, spotting irregularities or suspicious activity that might suggest money laundering or other illicit financial activities. Document findings and escalate where necessary. -
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all actions and decisions adhere to internal compliance policies, as well as local and international regulations concerning KYC, AML, and Financial Crime Prevention. -
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments such as legal, compliance, and the risk management team to ensure all due diligence measures are thoroughly followed. -
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and updated documentation for customers under review, ensuring timely reports and updates are provided to senior management and regulators where necessary. Assist in filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) when needed.
Key Skills Required:
- In-depth knowledge of CDD, EDD, and AML/KYC processes
- Familiarity with financial crime prevention regulations and the ability to apply this knowledge to real-world scenarios
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Analytical mindset to evaluate risk levels associated with customers
- Good communication skills for liaising with stakeholders across departments
- Familiarity with global banking processes and working with international clients
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-7 years of experience in KYC/AML, including hands-on experience in CDD, EDD, and periodic reviews
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field (preferable)
- Certifications: Any KYC/AML certifications (e.g., CAMS) will be an added advantage

- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Adaptable to changes in regulatory environments and banking systems
