Hiring for Compliance Manager –  Lagos

A licensed asset management company is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Compliance Manager to ensure the company adheres to regulatory requirements set by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other relevant bodies. The ideal candidate will possess managerial experience and extensive experience working directly with regulators.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure full compliance with all SEC regulations and other relevant regulatory bodies.

• Prepare and submit required regulatory filings, reports, and disclosures in a timely manner.

• Maintain an updated knowledge of changes in financial regulations and provide ongoing guidance to the organization.

• Manage organizational access details and 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication).

Risk Management:

• Oversee and update the organization’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) system.

• Develop, implement, and monitor risk management policies, procedures, and controls.

• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential risks.

• Detect and prevent financial crimes, including money laundering and fraud.

• Ensure strict adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.

Other Functions:

• Oversee Internal Audit functions to ensure comprehensive risk management.

• Lead policy creation and trainings for internal teams on compliance matters.

• Handle reporting and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Manage effective stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear and consistent communication with regulators, senior management, and other key stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

Experience & Skills:

• A minimum of 9 years experience in regulatory compliance within the financial sector, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.

• Strong knowledge of SEC regulations and financial compliance standards.

• Expertise in KYC, AML, and risk management principles.

• Proven experience working directly with regulatory bodies, particularly the SEC.

• Excellent proficiency in compliance reporting and strong communication skills.

• Strong management skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively and drive results.
