Hiring for Compliance Officer – UAE

Our client, a leading company in the virtual assets sector regulated by VARA, is expanding their compliance team. They are seeking a diligent and experienced Compliance Officer / Deputy MLRO to support the implementation and oversight of AML and compliance frameworks within the organization.

 Responsibilities:

• Assist the MLRO in developing, implementing, and monitoring AML and compliance programs specific to virtual asset activities.

• Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and ensure timely regulatory reporting to relevant authorities.

• Ensure full compliance with UAE regulatory frameworks and applicable global AML standards.

• Monitor and assess emerging risks in the virtual asset space and update policies accordingly.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, operations, and risk to maintain compliance integrity.

• Keep abreast of changes in virtual asset regulations and compliance best practices, particularly in the UAE and international markets.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of practical experience in AML and compliance roles, preferably within financial services or virtual asset industries.

• At least 1–2 years’ experience working in or closely with Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs).

• Strong knowledge of UAE regulatory frameworks and international AML standards such as FATF recommendations.

• Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to identify compliance risks effectively.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS) would be an advantage.
