We’re seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable KYC/AML Specialist who can handle complex client profiles, perform detailed risk analysis, and ensure strict compliance with regulatory standards.
The High Risk & Refresh KYC Analyst will be responsible for conducting comprehensive KYC reviews, onboarding high-risk clients, and executing periodic refreshes in line with internal compliance policies and regulatory expectations. The role demands exceptional analytical ability, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to mitigating financial crime risks.
Responsibilities
Client Onboarding & Due Diligence
Perform end-to-end KYC checks for new and existing high-risk clients, ensuring full compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Conduct detailed CDD (Customer Due Diligence) and EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) reviews.
Validate client documentation such as corporate structures, beneficial ownership, and source of funds.
Escalate any identified red flags, sanctions hits, or suspicious activities for further investigation.
KYC Refresh & Periodic Reviews
Manage the refresh and remediation process for high-risk and periodic client reviews.
Ensure all data and documentation are up-to-date, accurate, and stored in compliance systems.
Monitor risk ratings and update client profiles based on ongoing assessments.
Regulatory & Compliance Framework
Stay current with local and international AML/KYC regulations, FATF guidelines, and internal compliance procedures.
Maintain audit-ready documentation and support compliance testing or internal/external audits.
Identify process gaps and contribute to policy enhancements or risk controls.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with operations, legal, compliance, and risk teams to resolve complex KYC cases.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate client onboarding.
Contribute to training sessions or process improvements within the compliance department.
Candidate Profile
Experience: Minimum 6 years in KYC, AML, or compliance operations (strict requirement).
Expertise: Deep knowledge of high-risk client onboarding, refresh processes, and financial crime risk management.
Skills:
Strong analytical and investigative mindset.
Excellent understanding of ownership structures, PEP screening, and sanctions compliance.
Proficiency with KYC systems, case management tools, and documentation management platforms.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Education: Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields.
Certifications (preferred): CAMS, CKYCA, or equivalent AML/KYC certifications.
