Hiring for KYC Analyst – London
We are seeking an experienced KYC Analyst to join a global investment bank based in London. This role is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance and financial crime risk assessment. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting due diligence on high-risk entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and mitigating financial crime risks.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct end-to-end KYC reviews for new and existing clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Analyze and assess high-risk entity profiles, including financial institutions, corporations, trusts, and politically exposed persons (PEPs).
- Perform enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk clients, identifying potential risks and escalating issues as necessary.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including compliance, legal, and front-office teams, to ensure the smooth onboarding and periodic review of clients.
- Stay updated with evolving AML/KYC regulations and ensure processes align with industry best practices.
- Assist in remediating KYC files in line with regulatory expectations and internal audit findings.
- Identify potential financial crime risks, such as money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions breaches, and escalate appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Support regulatory-driven KYC projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of KYC experience, specifically dealing with high-risk entities in a financial services or investment banking environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK and global AML/KYC regulations, including FATCA, CRS, and the 6th EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive.
- Experience conducting enhanced due diligence (EDD) and identifying financial crime risks.
- Familiarity with KYC tools and platforms, such as World-Check, LexisNexis, or Dow Jones Risk & Compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex entity structures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while ensuring attention to detail.
- Prior experience working within an investment bank or large financial institution is preferred.
Additional Details:
- Hybrid working model – 3 days a week in the office.
- Competitive daily rate of £300 – £350 (inside IR35).
- 12-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
