Hiring for Transaction Monitoring Analyst – Investment Banking – Gurgaon
We are looking for experienced and analytical Transaction Monitoring Analysts (L2/L3 level) to join a leading investment bank. This role involves conducting end-to-end investigations of potentially suspicious financial transactions flagged through automated monitoring systems. Analysts will assess whether transactions represent money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crimes, and escalate cases as needed.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in financial crime compliance, particularly in L2 or L3 investigations, Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and STR/CTF processes.
Responsibilities

Review and investigate alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems to detect potentially suspicious or unusual activity.

Conduct Level 2 (L2) and Level 3 (L3) investigations using internal systems, customer documentation, and open-source intelligence (OSINT).

Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

Identify patterns or trends indicative of money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crimes.

Document findings, rationale, and final recommendations in a clear and audit-ready manner.

Escalate high-risk cases to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) or relevant compliance teams as needed.

Collaborate with compliance, legal, and business teams to ensure timely resolution of alerts.

Assist in tuning transaction monitoring rules and systems by providing feedback on false positives and new risks.

Stay updated on the latest regulatory developments related to AML/CTF.
Required Skills & Qualifications

3 to 7 years of experience in Transaction Monitoring within a banking or financial services environment.

Strong working knowledge of SARs, STRs, and CTF (Counter-Terrorism Financing) regulatory frameworks.

Prior experience in Level 2 or Level 3 alert investigations is required.

Understanding of global AML regulations (FATF, FinCEN, EU AML Directives, etc.) and local guidelines.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.

Familiarity with AML platforms and case management systems (e.g., Actimize, Mantas, SAS) is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field; CAMS or equivalent certification is a strong advantage.
